7 February 2012Bath Olympian Heather celebrates fashion for sports clothing

Modern pentathlete Heather Fell has officially opened an exhibition celebrating links between fashion and sport.

The Bath-based Olympian opened the Sport and Fashion event at the Fashion Museum at the Assembly Rooms.

Fell, who won silver at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, has appeared in a promotional video for a range of sportswear from Stella McCartney and Adidas.

The sportswoman, who is tipped to win another medal at the London Games, said: “I am excited to see the exhibition itself and incredibly honoured to be opening it.”

The 65 exhibits include historic skiing and tobogganing outfits including the red, white and blue suit which Bath gold medal-winner Amy Williams wore at the 2010 Winter Olympics.

The exhibition at the council-run attraction lasts for a year.
